Roulette: Looks Can Be Deceiving

Roulette is a game that is widely misjudged. Many have false notions about this game, and when played with such influences, it can cause some serious losses. Here are some common misconceptions about the famous game of Roulette, and why they are so widely believed.

The first misconception about the game of Roulette is that it is strictly a game of luck and nothing more. By placing your bet on a single number, you can do nothing but hope it is called and that you win big. This is false because although there isn’t the same kind of strategy in Roulette as there is in any card game, the player is still in control of the outcome of his bets. Whether it is played on a casino online, or in a land based casino, you still have control over your outcome. It’s true that bluffing won’t get you any closer to winning, but you can control your betting habits. This is important for limiting your losses, and knowing when to call it quits.

This brings us to our next point, the belief that once a number, or color is called, it’s better not to bet again on it so soon. This is a common misconception, but the truth is there is still the same odds for a number to be called twice in a row as a completely new number to be called. Many people place their best with this false belief and lose heavily because of it. If black is called 5 times in a row, you might keep betting red until you are broke. Roulette gambling is simple: there is always a 50/50 chance.
