Rules to Play the Lottery

Playing the lottery is enjoyed by thousands of people everyday.  They see that ski-high jackpot amount and while they are picking their numbers, their mind is running wild with all the things they will do with their winnings. Depending on which state you are a resident of, the rules are not always the same, with age being one of these rules.

In some states you can play the lottery if you are at least sixteen years old. Other states will require you to be eighteen and others will have a rule of being twenty-one.  Once you have your ticket in your hand, take good care of it.  It it becomes mutilated, illegible, or is altered in any way, it will be void.  A stolen ticket is not the responsibility of the Lottery.  Playing multi-drawings can be done in advance and any winner must put their name, address and phone number on the back to claim their prize.

Big winners are not given their money right away as the lottery will take time to validate each ticket. You have between six and twelve months to claim your prize depending on your location. You can also cancel your ticket where you bought it but Powerball tickets are not allowed to be canceled.
