Specifics of Baccarat

Baccarat has long been an popular and revered game, especially among the social and financial elite in early France. They called it Chemin de Fer, which has different rules compared to that most widely played in Casinos today, which is called American Baccarat.

The worth of cards in this game are as follows. Face, or “Court” cards (being the King, Queen and Jack) of any suit are worth zero. The Ace of any suit is worth one. If you have a hand that is worth more than a single digit (anything above a nine) the total will be subtracted by ten. This means that you just remove the first digit off the total. If you have a fourteen, this hand is worth four, if you have a seventeen, this hand is worth seven, and so on. This means, the highest hand you can ever have at any one time in Baccarat is nine.

You will have two hands, one that is called the hand for the “player” and the other is the hand for the “banker”. If neither of your hands equal nine, both of your hand will be allowed another card.

A winner is determined by whom ever has the most total points collectively in both hands.
